The shop is NOT going out of business.
It is with a heavy heart that I tell you that the shop is for sale. We do not want to close. Due to personal family matters, I am hoping to sell the shop to a loving caretaker as soon as possible.

Over the past 6 years, I did something I never imagined possible. This shop was the dream of a new knitter with no money and no clue! I could never have achieved my personal success without Lindsay, Sara, Lindsay, Sarah, Jess, Shea, Margaret, Holly Ann, and our "Energizer Bunny", Karoline. These girls had NO idea what they were getting themselves into with me. Especially, Lindsay H! (She is the one who really runs the place you, know!) But most of all, it was my customers. My wonderful, fabulous, loyal, generous, caring, dependable, incredible, sassy, bossy, demanding, stylish, hysterical, witty, charming, intelligent and just plain kind, customers.
You all have meant the world to me and have stuck by me through thick and thin. I have the best customers of any shop in the world and I have a staff that my husband, children and I, consider members of my family. You have seen my children grow from babies to a handsome football player and a beautiful lacrosse star. Many of you have laughed so hard here that you cried and many of you have cried so hard we've laughed. I am humbled and honored that so many have shared your life stories and secrets with me. We have seen couples date, get married, and start families. We have been through successes, teenage driving, illness, weddings, moves, new jobs, graduations, retirements, births, and losses with each other. You have been there for me like no group of people I could ever imagine, and I hope that I have been there for you. Mine has been an extraordinary journey filled with extraordinary people. I will hold every memory dear in my heart, knowing that I will never have another experience like this one ever again. Your many messages to me through Ravelry have brought me to tears, especially those of you who have moved away, but still "lurk". I am so pleased to know that this little shop meant more to you that just a place to buy yarn.
All my love,
Carole and Purl
